Cellsite Forensic

Cell-site Forensic App enables forensic surveys of the cell-sites that provide coverage for a crime scene. It records the cell ID, frequencies and signal strength against the GPS location. Locations of interest can be marked and the Officer can track their progress during the survey. A working copy can be downloaded onto the phone. The survey results are saved as a hashed (Gold) copy to a trusted server for later retrieval.

Focus112 Cell-site Survey app works on tablets and phones running Android 8.0 and above.

Features

* Provides a forensic survey of cell-site coverage of location

* A survey can be created and key data can be entered (Agency ref etc)

* A map of the location is displayed enabling the Officer to monitor the progress of the survey

* Key locations can be marked and labelled with GPS location

* Location and serving cell details are recorded with GPS location every 5 seconds and displayed on map - cell-sites are colour coded

* Survey can be paused and re-started

* A working copy can be downloaded onto the phone at the end of the survey

* A hashed evidential (Gold) copy is transmitted to www.focus-in.tel - officers can download these copies through the app with a Pro subscription (premium service managed via Google Play)

* A full audit trail is maintained for chain of evidence and can be downloaded

Permissions

The following permissions are required:

"make and manage phone calls" - This is required to get low level network data from your device

"access to device location" - In order to map and contribute, we will need to know where the data was recorded from your device

• ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION - To get CellID information

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - To get GPS location

• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - To get Cellular network information

• INTERNET - To connect to server to download map data / upload data

• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - To access saved survey files (Android 12 and below)

• READ_PHONE_STATE - To read info about airplane mode / network settings

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - To write external CSV file if no internet connection (Android 9 and below)

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE - To run surveys in background while app is active

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION - Background location tracking (Android 14+)

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS - To display survey progress notifications (Android 13+)

• BILLING - For premium service features
