Poxy is a web browser that sends your browsing through a server in a country you choose. Pages load as if you were there.
It is a browser, not a VPN. Only what you browse in Poxy goes through the proxy. The rest of your phone is untouched, and nothing is installed system-wide.
WHAT IT DOES
• Choose a country, or let Automatic pick the fastest server. Your browsing appears to come from there.
• Blocks ads and trackers, so pages load faster and use less of your data.
• Blocks pop-ups and click-redirect ads. Allow a site that really needs them with one tap.
• 1 GB of free data every month. Watch a short ad for 250 MB more, or invite a friend and you both get 500 MB.
• Reading mode strips articles down to the text. Translate any page.
• Private tabs with separate storage, destroyed when you close the last one. Tab groups and previews.
• Downloads manager with progress and retry. Video in landscape fullscreen or picture-in-picture.
• Tabs, bookmarks, history search, pinned sites, find in page, desktop site mode.
• Light and dark themes, adjustable text size, Arabic and 8 other languages.
BUILT SO IT CANNOT PRETEND
Most tools like this fail quietly. Poxy is built so it can't:
• If the proxy stops working, browsing STOPS. You get a clear message instead of being silently switched back to your normal connection while you think you're protected.
• WebRTC is disabled, because it can reveal your real address to any website even while a proxy is active.
• Downloads go through the same proxy as pages, not around it.
• The proxy connection shuts down when you close the browser, so no other app on your phone can use it.
• A "Check my connection" page shows exactly what sites can see, and lets you test it on an independent site.
YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
• History, bookmarks and tabs are stored only on your device.
• There is no account. No email, no phone number, no sign-up.
• We cannot see the pages you view.
• You can wipe everything in one tap, or have it wiped automatically on exit.
HONEST LIMITS
We would rather tell you than have you find out:
• This is not anonymity. If you sign in to a website, that site knows who you are, wherever your connection appears to come from.
• The proxy server can see which websites you connect to. It has to, in order to reach them. It cannot see the pages themselves, and those records are deleted after 7 days.
• Servers run on datacenter addresses, so some websites will show extra checks or refuse them. That is normal for any proxy.
• Ads are shown outside the proxy on purpose, so the ad network sees your normal connection, not the proxy's. Your browsing is unaffected.
