Spaceman is an arcade game in which the player takes a series of penalty kicks, striving to score as many goals as possible. In Spaceman, success hinges entirely on precision, shot direction, and power control.
Gameplay in Spaceman begins immediately after pressing "New Game." The player views the field from the perspective of the kicker, selecting the shot direction using arrow keys and adjusting the shot power by holding down the kick button.
The primary objective in Spaceman is to time your actions with precision. If the shot is too weak, the goalkeeper may save it. If you hold the button down for too long, the ball will fly over the crossbar. Every shot demands close attention and careful calculation.
The goalkeeper in Spaceman reacts randomly, diving to different parts of the goal; therefore, the player must not only gauge the power correctly but also anticipate the direction of the save.
One point is awarded for every successful shot in Spaceman. If the ball is saved or flies wide of the goal, the player loses one of their three lives.
The game continues as long as the player has remaining lives. Once all lives are lost, a results screen appears, offering the option to start a new game or return to the main menu.
In the Spaceman settings, players can toggle sound effects on or off, as well as customize other game preferences to suit their tastes.
Spaceman combines simple penalty-kick mechanics with elements of randomness and timing-based gameplay, transforming every attempt into a tense test of precision.
