As the doe longs for running waters, my soul longs for you, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I come in to introduce myself to God?
My tears have been my food day and night, for they ask me all the time, "Where is your God?"
When I remember these things, I cry in anguish. For I used to go with the multitude, leading the procession to the house of God, with songs of joy and thanksgiving among the celebrating multitude.
Why are you so sad, my soul? Why are you so upset inside me? Put your hope in God! For I will praise him still; he is my savior and
my God. My soul is deeply sad; Therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan, from the heights of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
Abyss calls abyss by the roaring of your waterfalls; all your waves and waves have come upon me.
May the Lord grant me his faithful love by day; in the night be with me your song. It is my prayer to God that gives me life.
I will say to God, my Rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why should I wander and mourn, oppressed by the enemy? ”
Even my bones suffer mortal agony when my adversaries mock me, asking me all the time, "Where is your God?"
Why are you so sad, O my soul? Why are you so upset inside me? Put your hope in God! For I will praise him still; He is my Savior and my God.
