The "Firestone Scan System" application is an internal tool specific to the Firestone Apparel ready-made garment factory in Egypt. The application is for factory employees only and requires access to the company server for data synchronization. It is not for general use, and new accounts cannot be created within the application: employees log in using their employee ID and name issued by the factory management.
In short, the application reads the QR code printed on the carton sticker using a mobile phone camera, records the carton's movement, and uploads it to the company server as soon as it becomes available.
Warehouse Unit: • Receiving (IN): Cartons are entered into the warehouse, specifying the zone and block.
• Out (OUT): Cartons are removed, recording the export number.
• Quality (QC): Affidavits the carton as inspected.
• Pending: Any scan performed while the server is unavailable remains on the list until it synchronizes automatically.
Production Line Unit: Scans QR codes of garments during the manufacturing process on the sewing lines.
Cutting and Assembly Stages Unit
Scans the entry and exit of permits or bundles in each department: Initial Assembly, Vaseline, Glue, Plaque, Embroidery, Final Assembly — then the Input Department (production line entry) and the Production Control Department (receiving permits and recording any shortages).
Monitoring Panel (for Managers)
Real-time data screen for the manager: today's production compared to yesterday's, open cutting orders and permits, and the number of pending permits for each department — access is restricted to authorized system accounts and roles only.
Data recorded with each scan
Carton code, Style No., Customer Purchase Order (PO), color, quantity, size, carton dimensions, Zone and Block, notes, employee number and name, device model, and scan date and time.
Offline Operation
If the server is unavailable, the scan is stored on the mobile device in a local database and is automatically uploaded once the connection is restored. The app also tests the server address on the factory's local network first. If no access is found, it automatically switches to the public address when the employee is outside the factory.
Permissions and their purpose
• Camera: Required to read the QR code on the carton sticker. No images are captured or stored.
• Internet and network status: To send scans to the company server and monitor connection status.
• Vibration: Vibration alerts the user upon successful or unsuccessful scans.
Privacy
Data goes to the factory's own server and is stored in a company-owned SQL Server database. No third parties are involved. There are no ads, external analytics tools, in-app purchases or payments, location tracking, or access to contacts, photos, or device files. No data is sold or shared with any other party.
Operating requirements
• Android 7.0 or later.
• An employee account issued by Firestone Management.
• Access to the company server, either from the factory's local network or from an authorized public address.
Important note: This is an internal operational application, not a consumer product. Without an employee account and access to the company server, the application will not display actual data.
