The psychiatric emergency is defined as “a request whose response cannot be deferred (…) There is an emergency from the moment someone asks the question, whether it is the patient, the circle of acquaintances or of the doctor: it requires a rapid and adequate response from the healthcare team in order to reduce the acute nature of mental suffering ”.
