Named Al-Barjanzy because it is ascribed to the name of the author's village which is located in Barjanziyah, Akrad (Kurdistan) area. The book's original name is 'Iqd al-Jawahir (Arabic, meaning a necklace of gems) some scholars state that the name of the essay is "I'qdul Jawhar fi mawlid an Nabiyyil Azhar." compiled to increase love for the Prophet Muhammad, although later it is better known by the name of the author.
