Interval Timer is a HIIT, Tabata and boxing round timer that KEEPS RUNNING when the screen goes off: a foreground service with a wakelock and drift-free elapsed-time math means your workout never silently dies in your pocket. No account, the timer itself needs no signal, and ads never appear on the running timer.
FREE
✓ Quick timer — set work / rest / rounds with steppers, see the total, hit start
✓ Custom sequences — named intervals with their own duration and color; add, edit, duplicate, reorder; save up to 5 workouts free
✓ Ready-made presets: Tabata (20/10 × 8), EMOM 10, AMRAP 20, Boxing (3 min / 1 min × 12)
✓ Sets with rest between sets, plus warm-up and cool-down blocks — build a full session, not just one block of rounds
✓ Fullscreen timer — huge digits, background color per phase (work = red, rest = green, or your own), progress ring, round counter, next-interval preview
✓ Voice coach — text-to-speech announces each exercise by name; 3-2-1 countdown beeps and interval-change tones
✓ Music ducking — beeps briefly lower your music instead of pausing it; Spotify keeps playing
✓ Survives screen-off and Doze — foreground service + wakelock, drift-free timing
✓ Notification controls — pause / resume / stop right from the status bar
✓ Skip an interval, or lock the screen against sweaty accidental taps (long-press the lock icon to unlock)
✓ +1 round counter for AMRAP and For Time; the total lands in your summary
✓ Get-ready countdown before the first interval, so you're in position when the clock starts
✓ Run again — repeat a workout right from the finish screen
✓ Last 7 days card on the home screen — workouts, time trained and your streak
✓ Stop asks first after 30 s, so a stray tap can't throw away a session
✓ Whole-workout progress bar, step counter and an end-of-session summary
✓ Configurable cues — 3, 5 or 10 countdown beeps, and an optional prompt every 15/30/60 s inside a long round
✓ Auto-pause when a call comes in, so you don't get beeped at mid-conversation
✓ Vibration on interval change, keep-screen-on, battery-optimization helper for aggressive OEMs
✓ Cue volume separate from your music, with a test-sound button
✓ Share a workout as a QR code, short code or text; friends scan or paste to import
✓ Quick Settings tile to start, pause or resume from the notification shade, and launcher shortcuts to start a saved workout
FREE WITH ADS, PRO WITHOUT
The free version shows a banner at the bottom of the home screen and, at most every few minutes, a full-screen ad after you close the summary of a finished workout. Never while a workout runs, never on the timer screen, never when you stop early. Ads come from Google AdMob and Unity Ads, which may use your advertising ID; where the law requires it you are asked for consent first (Settings › Pro & ads).
Interval Timer Pro is a Google Play subscription (monthly, 3 months, or yearly with a 3-day free trial). It removes all ads and unlocks:
★ Unlimited saved workouts
★ Per-interval sounds — 4 beep patterns or a custom spoken phrase for each interval
★ Scale all times — copy any workout at 50% to 200% length, original untouched
★ Export / import workouts as JSON files — share routines or move phones
★ 2×1 home-screen widget with quick-start buttons
★ Workout history — every finished session logged, with total time and a day streak
★ Reaction training — random cues inside your work intervals, like an unpredictable sparring round
★ Halfway voice cue and rounds-remaining announcements
Not ready to subscribe? Watch a short video for 30 minutes of Pro features (ads stay on; the widget needs Pro). Had the app before ads arrived? You keep Pro free on this install.
PRIVACY
Workout names, interval names and anything you type never leave the phone. The timer works offline; ads, Pro and anonymous usage stats use the internet. Usage stats and crash reports can be switched off in Settings. The camera is used only when you scan a workout QR code — you can paste the code instead.

New in 1.6.0:
- Run again: repeat the same workout straight from the finish screen.
- Last 7 days card on the home screen: workouts, time trained and your streak.
- Stopping a session after 30 seconds now asks first, so a stray tap can't throw it away.
- Pro: Scale all times copies any saved workout at 50% to 200% length, original untouched.
- Fixed: day streak in History could break around daylight-saving changes; the finish dialog could vanish or double up after rotating the phone.
