eAM Mobility

eAM Mobility module is implemented across 23 locations of Hindalco. Total user base is app 7000. As a standard maintenance practice, whenever any abnormality/breakdown etc is identified at shopfloor, the operation user informs maintenance user to take appropriate action. The standard flow is WR creation by Operation User à Conversion of WR to WO by maintenance users à Epermit initiation by maintenance user à subsequent closure of epermit & work order post completion of job.

All the above four steps are shopfloor activities. However, only the 3rd step (Epermit initiation by maintenance user) & part of 4th step (epermit closure) is available on mobile device as an app at shopfloor. Rest all steps are available on web in EBS. Due to non-availability of any mobile solution, the users rush to his/her desk to perform above steps or request any of the colleague to perform the activity on his/her behalf. So the pain point is : Work Request & Work Order creation & updating functionality is not available at shopfloor where as Epermit application is available on tablets at shopfloor. User need to toggle between shopfloor & his/her desk or request the person sitting at office to perform the activity. So we need to provide Work Request & Work Order functionality in mobile devices so that users can perform their respective activities from shopfloor itself and the entire process : Work Request generation, updating, conversion of WR to WO, updating, Epermit initiation & closure will be available on mobile devices at shopfloor which will help users in terms of saving their time, adopting the solution & following the process.
