FRAMES

The FRAMES (Facial Recognition Attendance Monitoring for Education Sindh) mobile application is a flagship digital initiative by the School Education & Literacy Department (SELD), Government of Sindh. Designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and governance, FRAMES replaces manual attendance with a secure, AI-driven facial recognition system for teaching and non-teaching staff across all public schools in Sindh.

This app is the first phase of a broader digital transformation project aimed at monitoring over 5.5 million users across 41,210+ schools in the province.

1. Secure Facial Recognition Attendance

• AI-Powered Authentication: Mark attendance using advanced facial recognition technology, ensuring accurate and tamper-proof identity verification.

• Adaptive Recognition: The system accurately recognizes faces in different lighting and background conditions, ensuring flexibility and ease of use.

• Liveness Detection: Anti-spoofing features prevent proxy attendance or identity fraud using photos or videos.

2. One-Time Facial Registration & HRMS Verification

• HRMS Integration: During registration, employees verify their identity using their CNIC and PID against the official HRMIS database.

3. Geo-Fencing & Location Validation

• School-Premises Attendance: Attendance can only be marked within a configurable radius (in meters) of the employee's assigned school location, defined by precise latitude and longitude.

• Real-Time GPS Tracking: The app compares real-time GPS coordinates against pre-approved school locations; attendance is automatically rejected if the user is outside the permitted boundary.

4. Offline Mode & Auto-Sync

• Work Without Internet: The app functions flawlessly in offline mode, caching, timestamped attendance logs locally on the device.

• Seamless Synchronization: Once an internet connection is restored, all pending attendance data is automatically and securely synced with the central MIS.

5. Leave Management System

• Apply for Leave: Employees can submit leave applications (casual, sick, earned) directly through the app, uploading supporting documents (e.g., medical certificates).

• Workflow Approvals: Integrated approval mechanism where headmasters, TEOs, and district officers can approve or reject requests with remarks.

• Real-Time Balance: Leave balances are updated in real-time according to SELD policy, preventing users from exceeding their allowed leave.

• Notification: Users can see notifications when leave is applied, approved, rejected, or if there are updates.

6. User-Friendly Dashboard

• Personalized Dashboard: Each user has a personalized dashboard to view attendance logs, leave history, and profile details.

• Detailed Logs: Every attendance record includes date/time, attendance status, GPS location, and facial match confirmation.

7. Feedback & Support

• SOP & User Guide: A comprehensive user guideline with step-by-step instructions, visuals, and best practices is available within the app for easy reference.

8. Notifications

• Escalations: Alerts are sent for repeated absenteeism, proxy attempts, or missed geo-fence validations.

9. Data Security & Privacy

• Device Integrity: The app detects rooted/jailbroken devices and blocks unauthorized access.

• One-Device Policy: Enforces a one-device-per-user control to reduce misuse.
