Sri Ramakrishna (1836–1886) was a saint, yogi, and spiritual teacher, believed by many to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. At the age of 30, while serving as a priest at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, he had a direct vision of Goddess Kali in her divine form. From then, he spent his life guiding seekers toward God-realization.
He practiced and realized the essence of different spiritual paths—Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam—proving that all religions lead to the same truth. His teachings inspired Swami Vivekananda, who later carried his message of Vedanta and Universal Brotherhood to the West.
He lightened up many lives with the divine knowledge of God. The world famous Swami Vivekananda was his disciple. Many Ashrams and Math were constructed in his name to spread the spiritual knowledge to the people in the country and outside.
