Sound Decibel Meter is a simple, live sound level meter for Android. It uses your phone's microphone to measure ambient noise in real time and shows you the current, minimum, maximum, and average decibel (dB SPL) values, plus a live timeline chart so you can see how the noise level changes over time.
▶ FEATURES
• Live dB SPL display — updated several times per second from the microphone RMS level
• Min / Max / Average dB tracking during a session
• Live timeline chart of dB values
• Adjustable calibration offset — slide to match a reference SPL meter if you have one
• Session duration timer
• Big radial gauge for at-a-glance reading
• Dark UI for low-light venues
• Works fully offline — only the microphone is used
• 22 languages supported
▶ HOW TO USE
1. Tap the Start button to begin measuring. Allow microphone permission.
2. The big number is the current dB. Min / Max / Avg update as you go.
3. Watch the chart fill in as the session continues.
4. If you have a reference SPL meter, adjust the calibration slider until the readings match.
▶ HONEST NOTES
• This is a basic RMS-based dB meter. It does NOT use A-weighting or Z-weighting (it reports raw dB SPL using a single offset).
• No OSHA / NIOSH safe-exposure timer is built in.
• No CSV export, no cloud sync, no scan history.
• Accuracy depends on your phone's microphone and the calibration offset you set. Treat readings as approximate (±3-5 dB without calibration).
▶ COMPATIBILITY
Android 7.0 and above. Microphone permission required. Works fully offline (internet only used for banner ads).
Free, simple, ad-supported. A handy reference dB meter — not a replacement for a professional calibrated SPL meter.
