Dish aligner Finding a satellite TV or an antenna in azimuth can be quite difficult. Before you find it with a compass, you need to perform some calculations with GPS location, magnetic variation, compass azimuth and satellite azimuth.

Check "satellite tracking" using GPS positions to find a satellite.

Some phone / tablet compass is really bad, so compare your phone / tablet compass with a real compass!

Unfortunately, you must calibrate the compass before using it.

Metal covers / casings or metal lids / magnetic closures influence / disrupt your phone or tablet compass. Do not wear these covers !! Your phone's compass may also be inaccurate because it is affected by other electromagnetic fields or because it is weakened by age. Calibrating the compass can not help.

How does it work?

Simply turn on GPS on your phone or enter your GPS location, select the desired satellite or satellite location and point your phone to the sky to search the satellite. You found the satellite when the white ball is in the white circle and the cyan ball is in the cyan circle. Point the satellite arm of the offset azimuth satellite to the cyan arrow on the phone screen, and the satellite dish is aligned with the satellite in azimuth.

Selectable Audiotone, camera view, continuous operation (no pause), color picker or a custom satellite position makes it easy to search for the desired TV satellite. The list of satellites contains 280 satellites.

Optionally, you can take a picture (in size) / a screenshot by tapping the Director tab. The photo / screen shot is stored ONLY on the phone memory card.

Optional: You can get a clue when you are near an iron bar (tray / bar) in the shape of a green / yellow / red bar.

The positions of the satellites are derived from the Agi database. Some positions do not seem to be accurate (example: Hispasat 30 ° w is at 29.96 ° w in the satellite list), but they are very accurate.

SatFinder (Satellite Finder) Satellite Locator is a tool for the installation of satellite dishes. This gives you azimuth, altitude and LNB slope for your location (GPS-based) and satellites selected from the list. The result is displayed graphically as much as numerical data as on Google Maps. It also has a compass built to help you find the correct satellite azimuth. You can also use Augmented Reality to show where the satellite is in the camera.

Compass works only with devices with a compass sensor (magnetometer).
