Your privacy is our top concern. We use Open Source code to ensure transparency. Your personal information is only retrieved or used when you explicitly request it via the platform.

IMPORTANT PERMISSIONS & NOTES

To provide the highest level of security, Prey requires the following:

Device Administrator: Enables Remote Wipe and Lock features.

Accessibility Services: Required for the "Lock" feature to show an "Access Denied" screen overlay.

Background Location: Enables geotracking and geofencing even when the app is not in use.

All Files Access (Android 12+): Required for the "File Retrieval" feature.

Uninstall Protection: To prevent unauthorized removal, Prey requests permissions that require uninstallation via Settings > Apps > Prey.

Note: Power Button Lock is available only on Android 8 and lower due to OS restrictions.
