Hidden Camera Detector helps you organize a careful room check with guided lens inspection, approximate magnetic readings and nearby Bluetooth observations. Use its clues to decide what to examine by hand when arriving at a hotel, rental or unfamiliar room.
GUIDED LENS CHECK
Use the camera preview to inspect objects for small reflections. A three-step checklist guides a manual sweep, and the rear-camera torch can help illuminate reflective surfaces where supported. This is a visual inspection aid: the phone does not gain thermal vision or automatic infrared detection. A reflection alone does not identify a camera.
MAGNETIC FIELD READINGS
The magnetic mode uses the phone magnetometer and displays field strength in microtesla. It collects an initial baseline, then highlights deviations as you move the phone. Readings are approximate and depend on the sensor and surroundings. Magnets, speakers, wiring and ordinary electronics can influence the result; a high reading does not establish that a hidden camera is present.
BLUETOOTH AND TRACKER CLUES
Review nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices and their signal strength. Strong unnamed signals can be flagged as hints for further inspection. The tracker mode compares supported Bluetooth advertising patterns, including AirTag patterns, and reviews repeat sightings with approximate proximity bands. These observations cannot establish an exact distance, ownership or intent. Devices that are not advertising a supported Bluetooth signal may be missed. This is not a Wi-Fi network scan.
KEEP YOUR CHECK ORGANIZED
Mark rooms on the area checklist, save sweep sessions and keep selected Bluetooth devices on a watchlist to review reappearances. Work through one area at a time and physically inspect anything that needs attention. A quiet reading or an empty device list is not proof that a room has no camera.
Tracker pattern matches are experimental and have not been verified with real-device captures.
ACCESS AND LIMITS
Camera permission enables the preview. Bluetooth scanning needs the relevant device permissions; older Android versions may request location access for Bluetooth scanning. Available results vary by phone hardware, permissions and signal conditions. The app contains advertising and uses Firebase Analytics; these services can make network requests. It is an inspection companion, not a security guarantee or a substitute for a thorough physical search.

During scans: “Finish”; “Finish check” appears after all 3 lens steps are ticked. Finishing opens “What this scan recorded”: only the available record for that mode. It cannot confirm a room has no camera. Move to the next mode when available. No full-screen ad on return from camera/Bluetooth permission. Interface added for Czech, Danish, Finnish, Hebrew and Dutch phone languages.
