Veterinary fluid is one of the most important and most frequently used in the Intensive Care therapeutic measures.
The balance of the volume and composition of body fluids which constitute the internal milieu homeostasis is maintained. If regulation fails balance is disturbed.
The objectives of the fluid are maintaining adequate hydration status and tissue perfusion with electrolyte balance.
The use of this type of treatment requires a basic understanding of the physiology of water and electrolytes, clinical and pathophysiology of electrolyte and acid-base imbalances pure and mixed. Only by providing this information we will be able to know at each clinical situation which liquid is needed, how much and when you should give.
