In the early 90s, Hubert Henry Limahelu a.k.a. 'HH5H' (bass), John Paul Ivan a.k.a. 'JPI' (guitar), Inno Daon (vocals), Pet Agusty (drums) founded a band with the name 'Lost Angels', a play on the name of the city of Los Angeles and at the same time means 'Lost Angels'. This band is the forerunner to the birth of Boomerang. A year after being formed, Roy Jeconiah Isoka Wurangian (vocals) entered to replace Inno Daon who left.

After doing joint exercises and as they performed in Surabaya musical performances, they then followed a rock music festival organized by Log Zhelebour, at the end of 1992. In that event, Lost Angels made it into the top ten and their song titled No More was recorded on a compilation album 10 Finalists of the Indonesian Rock Festival VII ('93). Starting from the event, Lost Angels was immediately entrusted to be the opening group of the 2000 rock group tour in South Sulawesi, June-July 1993.

In 1994 they were recruited by the record company Logiss Record. And in March - April 1994 under producer Log Zhelebour at the Nirwana Record studio in Surabaya, they worked almost 18 hours a day to record their first album. While finished with the recording process of their first album and waiting for the making of the cassette cover, they decided to take out their drummer "Pet Agusty" because his behavior could no longer be in line with the idealism of their group's original aims and was too concerned with personal material. On May 8, 1994 they agreed to replace the name Lost Angels to Boomerang which also became the title of their debut album which was released on the market on July 1, 1994 with the hit single 'Kasih` and No More. Therefore, in making the clip 'Love' on the first album, they only performed three of them. Amid the album promotion process, Boomerang personnel auditioned for new drummers. To fill the vacant position of the drummer when they had to do a tour and a concert, they recruited Farid Martin, who they knew from Mas Tony, Sound Engineer on the first and second album Boomerang. On January 1, 1995 Farid Martin officially became a permanent member of Boomerang.
