Apocryphal Books of Enoch

This app contains the three books that are attributed to Enoch:

The first is the Ethiopian book of Enoch (which is the best known).

The second is the Slavic Book of Enoch (also called the book of secrets).

The third is the Hebrew Book of Enoch.

Book 1:

The first part of the Book of Enoch describes the fall of the Watchers, the angels who spawned the Nephilim.The rest of the book describes Enoch's visits to heaven in the form of journeys, visions and dreams, and his revelations.

The book consists of five rather distinct main sections:

The Book of the Watchers (1 Enoch 1–36)

The Book of Enoch's Parables (1 Enoch 37–71) (also called Similitudes of Enoch)

The Astronomical Book (1 Enoch 72–82) (also called the Book of Celestial Luminaries or Book of Luminaries)

The Book of Dream Visions (1 Enoch 83–90) (also called the Book of Dreams)

The Epistle of Enoch (1 Enoch 91–108)

Most scholars believe that these five sections were originally independent works6 (with different dates of composition), themselves the product of many editorial arrangements, and were only later redacted in what is now called 1 Enoch.

Book 2:

The Second Book of Enoch (usually abbreviated as 2 Enoch, and also known as Slavic Enoch or The Secrets of Enoch)1 and "The Book of The Secrets of Enoch II" is a pseudepigraphical text composed of various "books" that are They date from the 3rd century B.C. to 6 AD1, roughly dated by consensus of philologists and historians to around 70 AD1 and composed of various sources.

Book 3:

The Third Book of Enoch is a pseudepigraph of the Hebrew Bible whose origin dates from manuscripts probably written around the 5th century, although it could date back to the 2nd century. The third Book of Enoch is also known as 3 Enoch, The Hebrew Book of Enoch or the Sefer Hekhalot (Book of Palaces). This book recounts Enoch's ascension to heaven to become the angel Metatron, a story received by Rabbi Ishmael.

The Book of Enoch generally refers to the First Book of Enoch, which is found in its entirety only in Ethiopian Semitic languages. There is also the Second Book of Enoch, which has survived only in Old Slavonic.
