YouTube Kids: A Safe and Fun Video App for Children

YouTube Kids is a special app designed just for kids. It provides a fun and contained environment where children can explore videos on their own, while parents and caregivers can guide their journey.

Safety First:

We take keeping kids safe online very seriously. YouTube Kids uses a combination of automated filters, human reviewers, and parent feedback to curate a library of family-friendly videos. However, no system is perfect, so we’re always working to improve and offer more features to help parents create the right experience for their families. This includes the ability to turn search on or off, and to check your child’s watch history with the “Watch it Again” feature.

Personalized for Every Kid:

With YouTube Kids, you can create individual profiles for each child, giving them a unique viewing experience. These profiles can be used on mobile devices, tablets, or even your TV!  Each profile allows you to select an age category (Preschool, Younger, or Older) or choose the “Approved Content Only” mode.

In “Approved Content Only” mode, you handpick the videos, channels, and collections that your child can watch. Searching for videos is disabled in this mode, ensuring your child only sees what you’ve approved.  Once chosen on your mobile device, the approved content will be available on all your devices with YouTube Kids.

Endless Fun for Curious Minds:

YouTube Kids offers a vast library of family-friendly videos on all sorts of topics to spark your child’s creativity and imagination.  From their favorite shows and music to educational videos on building a volcano or making slime, there’s something for every kid!
