ViPDashPlayer

ViPDashPlayer Pro is a media player for IPTV playlists. It runs on Android TV,

Fire TV, tablets and phones — the same app with two interfaces: a remote-driven

layout on the television and a real touch layout on handhelds, rather than a

shrunken TV screen operated with fingers.

You bring your own source. The player reads M3U and M3U8 playlists from a URL, a

local file, a USB stick, an SMB share or WebDAV, and it also speaks Xtream Codes,

Stalker and MAG portals, and TVheadend. Several sources can be combined into a

single list with a merged programme guide.

The guide reads XMLTV and offers a scrollable grid, full programme details and a

per-playlist time offset. You can record what is currently running or schedule a

timer, including series timers, and continue films and episodes where you left

off. Four streams can play side by side in MultiView.

Playback is built on Android's Media3. The usual KodiProp properties are

supported for streams that need custom headers, a specific user agent or DRM

handled through the official Android interfaces. Playlists, settings and

favourites can be exported as an encrypted backup.

The file offered here is the 64-bit build, which covers current Android TV boxes,

sticks, tablets and phones. Older 32-bit devices, including several early Fire TV

Sticks, need the separate 32-bit package available from vipdashplayer.net. Both

builds are identical in features and use the same licence, so an activation code

works with either one.

ViPDashPlayer Pro is a player only. It contains no channels, films, playlists or

subscriptions — you supply your own. A seven-day trial runs without an account.

The screenshots show a demonstration playlist we put together ourselves from

freely licensed material: open movies published by the Blender Foundation under

Creative Commons Attribution — Big Buck Bunny among them, (CC) Blender

Foundation, blender.org — alongside official test streams from Apple, Akamai and

Unified Streaming. Every channel, film and series name in it is invented.
