सेवा कैब को चालक शक्ति यूनियन ने शुरू किया है और इस नाते दिल्ली- NCR के चालक इसके मालिक हैं. यह एक सामाजिक उपक्रम है जिसका उद्देश्य सुरक्षित, भरोसेमंद और किफायती टैक्सी सेवा उपलब्ध कराना है और जो भारत में सबसे सस्ती टैक्सी सेवा है. हम बाज़ार के स्वतंत्रता के पक्षधर हैं परन्तु प्रतियोगिता की आड़ में बाहरी पैसे से चलने वाली कंपनियों द्वारा चालकों का शोषण नहीं होना चाहिए.

एप के अतिरिक्त सवारी हाथ देकर भी गाड़ी को रोककर बैठ सकती है. चालक सवारी का मोबाइल नंबर एप में डालेगा और मीटर शुरू हो जाएगा. यात्रा के अंत में इनवॉइस का लिंक मिल जाता है.

भारत सरकार की कौशल विकास योजना के तहत सेवा कैब चालकों के गहन प्रशिक्षण की योजना पर काम कर रही है. अनेक NGO आदि के साथ मिलकर चालकों को शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, वित्तीय ज्ञान जैसे फायदे भी दिए जायेंगे.

न्याय का तकाजा है कि लगभग पूरा किराया चालक के पास जाना चाहिए ना कि कंपनियों की जेब में. इस उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए हमने बेहद कम लागत वाला बिज़नेस मॉडल निकाला है जिसमें चालक अपनी आमदनी का केवल 1% के आसपास ही सेवा कैब को देता है.

Sewa Cab is a social venture that provides secure, reliable and affordable point-to-point city cabs cheaper than any other cab service in India. Sewa Cab is owned, funded and operated by the community of drivers through Chaalak Shakti, a drivers’ union. Whilst we firmly believe in the freedom of markets, it is necessary that the drivers are not exploited by VC-funded companies in the name of competition.

Besides using the app, you can street-hail a Sewa Cab. The driver will feed your mobile number in the app and the fare meter will start. At the end of the trip, you will get a link to the invoice.

Sewa Cab is working on a project for intensive training of drivers under skill development programs of the Govt. of India. A network of NGOs is being identified to which the drivers can connect for mutual help and growth in the areas of education, health, financial literacy, etc.

It is only fair that almost all of the fare paid by the passenger must go to the cab operator/driver instead of being pocketed by the app-based aggregators. To achieve high levels of efficiency, we have come up with an ultra-low cost business model that takes as little as just 1% of the fare to cover its cost.
