Shield Security

Shield Security is a security response phone app designed for South Africans and travelers in the country. This easy-to-use app connects you with a network of private security providers, offering nationwide coverage and a fast, effective response when you need it most.

Unlike other apps that only alert loved ones when you're in trouble, Shield Security uses geo-location data to send an immediate signal to the nearest private security vehicle in your area. This means that no matter where you are—whether commuting, traveling, jogging, or on holiday—you can count on Shield Security to keep you safe, even when you're outside the comfort of your home or office security systems.

By leveraging advanced geo-tagging technology, Shield Security ensures that you are quickly connected with highly trained and registered private security and emergency response providers.

Shield Security gives you reliable security coverage wherever you go—empowering you with peace of mind knowing help is never far away.

According to the South African Police Service's crime statistics for the second quarter of the 2023–2024 financial year, reported contact crimes (defined as crimes against the person) increased by 2.1% compared to the previous year. This uptick highlights that, despite ongoing efforts, crime remains a significant concern.

Serious crimes continue to be prevalent in densely populated urban and suburban areas. While public services like the South African Police Service exist, they can be overwhelmed, especially during peak times, leading to slower response times.

Shield Security serves as a vital community resource, supplementing public services with fast-acting private responders. While private home security is common for many families, Shield Security extends that sense of security into the broader community, helping to create safer environments for everyone.

The benefits of Shield Security are clear: it provides peace of mind for you and your loved ones, reduces pressure on public services, and contributes to faster, more effective mitigation of criminal activity in cities. By fostering a sense of collective safety, Shield Security plays a role in building stronger, more secure communities.
