The TeamSurv app connects to your boat's instruments usig a Wi-Fi NMEA0183 connection, displaying the data in a variety of useful ways and giving you an instrument display in your pocket. The data is also stored for later uploading to TeamSurv's servers, where it is processed to produce detailed crowd sourced depth data, and published for all at www.teamsurv.com.
To upload the data you need to register at www.teamsurv.com, and to go through a calibration process to give us data such as the depth transducer's distance below the waterline. You can register within the app or on the web site, and we will then email you a worksheet for calibration.
This is a beta release to test the core functionality of connecting to the instruments, decoding the NMEA data stream and uploading the data to the server, so just has simple numeric displays of instrument data. The next releases will show the data to better effect, starting with plots of the data against time.
