Tangram Puzzle

Tangram is an old chinese puzzle, where 7 puzzle pieces (called tans) have to be placed within a given shape in a way such that the whole shape is covered and none of the pieces overlap.

Each tangram puzzle contains the following:

- 2 large right triangles

- 1 medium-sized right triangle

- 2 small right triangles

- 1 small square

- 1 parallelogram

Benefit of Tangrams

Tangram improves the development of skills such as visual intelligence and problem-solving in individuals.

While the benefits of tangram puzzles can be seen in people of varies age, they are most beneficial to kids:

- problem-solving and logical thinking

- develops geometric intuition

- hands - eye motor skill

- spatial relationships

As noted by Zhen Yuan and his colleagues, solving tangram puzzles appears to activate parts of the brain associated with creative thinking and trial-and-error problem-solving (Hu et al, 2019).
