Tangoe Mobile provides mobile device management and real-time usage statistics

You no longer need to call IT to connect your Android device with your corporate infrastructure. Using Tangoe Mobile, you can self-authenticate, authorize, and configure your device without help from IT. In addition, Tangoe Mobile offers real time tracking of your device’s usage, helping prevent bill shock.

Using Tangoe Mobile you can:

- Receive alarms on your mobile device as you use up data

Note: Tangoe Mobile requires Tangoe's Mobile Device Manager (MDM) Server and rTEM solution for full functionality. Please verify that your company is utilizing Tangoe MDM and/or rTEM before downloading this app. Tangoe rTEM requires multitasking, so it may not function on some older devices. Extended use of Location Services can decrease your battery life.

Note 2: Tangoe Mobile is the Android mobile agent portion of the Tangoe Mobile Device Management application (MDM). Administrators can create policies, restrictions and access points for Android devices in the web interface. Devices running the mobile agent then activate the device by contacting the server endpoint directly to opt-in to the management services. Once the device has activated, web administrators can require certain applications or policies be in place in order to securely provide access to their controlled corporate networks.

Tangoe Mobile requires the BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN permission in order to effectively carry out the mobile portion of these services. Specifically, the mobile application: 1) enforces policies, such as minimum password requirements, 2) provides configuration information, such as for corporate email and 3) curates application residency on the device, such as requiring certain applications be installed on the device for corporate use.

Tangoe Mobile requires this special permission (which the user must specifically enable) in order to perform its basic functions. Without this permission, the app would not function and would not provide connection to the corporate network or the corporate MDM services.
