The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Aashtak is an eight verse prayer in praise of the Lord Hanuman, the God of courage, strength, confidence and devotion. This Prayer is recited by devotees of Hanuman in order to overcome obstacles, dangers, and trouble from enemies.

Hanuman Ashtak is a Hindu devotional hymn (stotra) addressed to Hanuman. Hanuman is also known as Bajrang Bali. "Bajrang Bali", "the strong one (bali), who had limbs (anga) as hard as a vajra (bajra)"; this name is widely used in rural North India.
