Salmo 5

1 Hear, Lord, my words, consider my groaning.

2 Heed my cry for help, my King and my God, for it is you I implore.

3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my cry; in the morning I offer you my prayer and wait with hope.

4 You are not a God who takes pleasure in injustice; with you evil cannot dwell.

5 The arrogant are not accepted in your presence; you hate all who do evil.

6 You destroy liars; murderers and treacherous the Lord hates.

7 But I, because of your great love, will enter your house; in fear I will bow down to your holy temple.

8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; smooth your way before me.

9 There is no trustworthy word on their lips; their mind only plots destruction. The throat is an open tomb; with their tongue they subtly deceive.

10 Condemn them, O God! Let them fall by their own machinations. Cast them out because of their many crimes, for they rebelled against you.

11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; always sing with joy! Extend your protection over them. Let those who love your name rejoice in you.

12 For you, Lord, bless the righteous; your favor protects him like a shield.
