RingBar

RingBar turns the camera hole at the top of your screen into something useful. A ring around the camera shows your battery, a thin bar along the top shows your downloads, and a small capsule grows out of the camera to show music, timers and more.

A small black capsule grows out of the camera when something is happening, and opens when you hold it.

• Calls, directions, screen recording, earbuds, flashlight, volume and more.

• Choose what each tap, hold and swipe does.

Capsule is new. Some types depend on what your phone maker allows, so not every type works on every phone yet.

GLOW

A soft light around the camera or along the edge of the screen when a notification comes in. Give each app its own colour so you know who it is before you look.

RingBar only redraws when something changes, so a still ring uses almost no battery.

PRIVACY

• RingBar uses Android's Accessibility service only to find your camera and draw the ring, bar and capsule above the status bar, and to hide them in full-screen video and games if you choose. It does not read your screen, your messages or what you type.

• If you allow notification access, RingBar uses it to show downloads, what is playing, timers and the Capsule and Glow. Nothing it reads is saved or sent off your phone.

• Crash reports are off until you turn them on.

• Ads are served by Google AdMob. Pro removes them.
