Your favorite RC car lost its original app. Red Thunder Remote brings driving, sounds and expressive movements back to compatible Sphero Ultimate Lightning McQueen cars.

• Browse and play McQueen's built-in sounds and animations.

• Explore the interface and guided tour before connecting a car.

FIRMWARE UPDATES AND RESTORES — FREE

• Check installed software, audio files and animation data in Diagnostics.

• Follow guided firmware updates and restore original English audio and animations when files are missing or mismatched.

• Download the restore audio when needed, then reuse the verified cached image for later restores. Keeping the large image outside the app also makes the app download smaller.

• See power requirements, progress and Wi-Fi connection prompts throughout the restore.

• Scene Studio: arrange animations, sounds and pauses into scenes and playlists.

• Watch Party: have McQueen follow a timed movie-reaction playlist. Start the timer with your movie and adjust it manually if it drifts. Movie video and sound are not included.

• Community Library: discover and share scenes and movie playlists, download creations, and make your own editable copies. Reporting and creator-blocking controls are included.

• Chat with McQueen on supported devices: an on-device model chooses from his recorded lines and animations. Replies are still being refined. Conversation text stays on your device unless you choose to send feedback.

• Drive with a compatible Bluetooth game controller.

• Customize animation names, favorites and event reactions, and collect favorites in your driving-screen Emote Playlist.

Driving, volume controls, diagnostics, firmware updates and guided restores do not require Pro. Hardware features need a compatible Sphero Ultimate Lightning McQueen; Explore lets you preview the app without one. Chat availability depends on the device.

Before restoring, put McQueen on his charger with at least 80% battery and keep your phone nearby. Approve the connection to his Wi-Fi when prompted. A full audio installation can take around 45–75 minutes. The first audio download needs internet; later restores can use the verified cached image. The restore installs English audio, replacing another installed language. It can repair missing or mismatched files, but it cannot fix every hardware or software fault.

Red Thunder Remote 1.2 requires Android 7 or newer.
