In December 1987, the first edition of the magazine Revista Produção was circulated, which gave rise to the protection of Publications and Events. Protection appeared as a biannual magazine, which gradually expanded its periodicity. In 1990, the circulation was already quarterly, changing to bimonthly, in 92, and monthly, in April, 94. The project of the magazine Protecao emerged on the initiative of the Plínio Fleck group, from Campo Bom / RS, led by one of its directors , Martinho Fleck, who in 1987 decided to find an instrument to promote aspects related to Occupational Health and Safety. Plínio Fleck produces safety toecaps and other components for protective shoes and believed that a magazine such as Protection could be an important tool for improving safety conditions in companies, helping to expand the market for safety products and consolidating its image.

The project for the half-yearly magazine was taking shape, but in 1991 Plínio Fleck decided to focus its attention on products aimed at the footwear market, selling the title to the current director of the Magazine, Alexandre Gusmão. From then on, Protection Publications Ltda, moved to another city, and the magazine started to be published in Novo Hamburgo / RS. Today Protection is the main Brazilian publication in the Occupational Health and Safety sector, with a monthly circulation audited by the IVC of 17,000 copies, circulating in all Brazilian states within the main companies.

The trajectory of Revista Proteção has undergone a series of important initiatives, among which is the launching of the Brazilian Protection Yearbook, in 1995. This publication contains a summary of the main information needed by OSH professionals. Other products were launched, such as the CD-Rom Protection, bringing together the main articles and articles published by the magazine. In 2003, the Protection Agenda was launched, which is annually edited and serves as a support for professionals to retrieve their notes and technical information in a single document.
