The Number 1 mandate for the Department of Fisheries is to disseminate improved aquaculture technologies through training and demonstration and to extend extension advisory services to the focal stakeholders. To make the process of accessing DoF officials in need of an emergency, Department of Fisheries, Bangladesh has taken the initiative to build a contact directory in the form of an app. The Contact Directory app will have the virtual form of the directory where all the required contacts of the DoF officials will be saved and made accessible to the app user. The app will be installed on the mobile phone device or any other smart device used by the people of the society.

With the Department of Fisheries Contact Directory app as known as DoF Phonebook, the people of the country will soon be able to reach out to the efficient DoF officials with their aquaculture related problems or other such problems happening around them. Even they will be able to find help and other apt assistance in case of an emergency. The DoF officials will be able to get the contact information of other DoF and MoFL officers by a simple search.

A smart notification system has been introduced in this application. Where admin users can send any specific information to the specific group of people which will reduce the time for the desk officer. The desired group of officers will instantly get notified within the apps. After logged in, any user can change the information of their needs. There is a future scope to this apps to integrate with the DoF Personnel Data Sheet which would immensely help any officials to fill up with their posting places and other relevant information to this apps.
