This is a sliding puzzle that consists of a frame of numbered square tiles in random order with one tile missing. The objective is to move the tiles and sort the numbers in increasing order.

- There are three possible game board configurations: 3x3 board (also called 8-puzzle or 9-puzzle), a 4x4 board (also called 15-puzzle or 16-puzzle) and a 5x5 board.
