This app was specially developed for the NHK General TV channel program, Moving Images that Span the Eras – Street Corner Time Slip (Jidai wo koete Kinensatsuei – Machikado Time Warp). In this edition, the program draws on some 50 archived footage items from the Asakusa district of Tokyo. Go there, turn on the app, and the AR (augmented reality) will show you the exact same place as it used to be. Compare the present-day scene of people and buildings with the old, then enter the time warp by snapping your own photo in the street as it was.
