About LongShot: Scrolling Screenshot

Capture long scrolling screenshots of any chat, page or feed. Private, offline

LongShot takes long screenshots the easy way. Instead of many separate screenshots, capture a whole scrolling screen as ONE full-length image.

Just scroll and LongShot stitches every frame together — a chat thread, an article, a web page, a social feed or a receipt becomes one long screenshot, ready to save, edit and share.

WHY LONGSHOT

• No accessibility service — Most long screenshot and scrolling screenshot apps require the Accessibility permission, which can read every screen you open. LongShot never asks for it. It uses Android's standard screen capture, which you approve once per session. The trade is honest: LongShot cannot scroll for you — your thumb does that.

• No internet permission, and you can check it — "we don't upload anything" is a sentence any app can write. This one removes the INTERNET permission entirely, so Android itself refuses to open a connection. No account, no sign-in, no tracking, no ads. Fully offline.

• No length limit — The image is written to storage band by band instead of being held whole in memory, so length is bounded only by your free space.

• Full editor — Brush, highlighter, rectangle, oval, arrow, line, text and a hide tool that blacks an area out — the covered pixels are gone from the saved file, not scrambled. Pixelate sits beside it if you prefer to show something was removed. Undo/redo, a draw lock so panning a tall image does not turn a stroke into a drag, and crop.

• One-tap hide personal data — On-device text recognition finds email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs, MAC addresses, crypto wallet addresses and access keys, and covers them with a solid fill, not a mosaic, because pixelation is reversible. Card numbers must pass the Luhn check and IBANs mod-97, so an order number is not mistaken for a card. Everything runs on your device.

• Export as PNG or multi-page PDF, or send straight to the share sheet.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Grant "display over other apps" once.

2. Tap Start, then scroll the screen you want — steadily.

3. The frames auto-stitch into one long image, and the editor opens on it.

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU INSTALL

We would rather tell you than have you find out:

• Text tools (Copy text, Hide personal data) read Latin script only — Arabic and other non-Latin text is not recognised. Use the hide tool by hand for those.

• Scrolling in hard flicks can outrun the capture, showing as a smeared or repeated band. A steady scroll captures every row.

• Playing video is the hardest thing to capture and can leave a seam in its own area. Pausing it first gives the cleanest result. While you capture, the floating bar shows a pause mark whenever it sees movement, and afterwards the app tells you if a capture came back incomplete.

• Apps that block screenshots (banking, DRM video) come out black — that is Android, not the app.

• Capture stops and saves what it has below about 120 MB free.

PERFECT FOR

• Saving a full chat or conversation

• Capturing an entire web page or long article

• Screenshotting long social media feeds and profiles

• Keeping receipts, invoices and order confirmations

• Capturing dashboards, reports and statements

Free, no ads, no in-app purchases. Android 8.0+.

Take the long screenshot you always wished your phone could take — capture the whole screen, not just what fits.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How do I take a scrolling screenshot on Android?

Many phones have it built in — Samsung calls it Scroll capture, Xiaomi Scroll, OnePlus Expanded screenshot, Oppo and Vivo Long screenshot. LongShot is for the apps where that button never appears.

Why is the scroll option missing or greyed out?

Android's own version asks the app to hand over its scrollable content, so the app must support it. Many chat apps, feeds and games do not. LongShot captures the screen itself, so it does not depend on the app cooperating.

How do I screenshot a whole WhatsApp chat?

Open it and scroll steadily. You get one tall image instead of seven screenshots.

What's New in the Latest Version 2.2

Last updated on Sep 14, 2026

• Share an image to LongShot to hide personal data in the editor. Done saves a copy to your gallery; the original is untouched.
• Hide personal data now hides a card number on the same line as its expiry date or CVV, and an IBAN even if one character is misread. The expiry date, and times or amounts just after an IBAN, stay readable.
• First setup: the "Grant permission to start" button now looks active, and the steps also name the permission as Samsung does, "Appear on top".
