The story begins with the life of a high school student named Ichigo Kurosaki in Karakura Town who can see spirits. At first Ichigo can only see the ordinary spirit of the deceased, but it changes when one day he meets a woman dressed in black kimono in her room. The woman is a shinigami named Rukia Kuchiki. As a result, Ichigo then incarnate as a shinigami and defeat the hollow.
