Based in Bozeman, Montana, the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center (GNFAC) puts out daily avalanche advisories. Additionally, the GNFAC posts useful videos and photos to help the backcountry user understand the current snow stability. Other pages allow for easy viewing of weather stations and also allow backcountry skiers and riders to send in their field observations.
The avalanche advisory covers the Bridger, Madison, Gallatin Ranges and mountains around West Yellowstone and Cooke City.
This free, no frills app was funded by the Friends of the Avalanche Center.
