genitourinary: Relative to the organs of the human body that act both in the production of urine, but also in sexual reproduction.

Large numbers of patients suffer from a variety of diseases in the genitourinary system, which is composed of kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and genital organs. Genitourinary diseases include congenital abnormalities, iatrogenic injuries, and disorders such as cancer, trauma, infection, and inflammation. These diseases often involve or result in the loss of tissue structure or function.
