How FOMO Uses the Accessibility API

FOMO uses Android's Accessibility API to detect which app is currently open on your screen. This is essential to FOMO's core feature — blocking distracting apps — because without it, FOMO cannot tell when you've opened an app you've limited or show the block screen that keeps you accountable. The Accessibility service is also used to close Picture-in-Picture windows belonging to apps you've blocked. FOMO does not use the Accessibility API to read message content, passwords, photos, or any other personal on-screen information, and this data is never sent to our servers, sold, or shared with third parties. You'll see exactly what's accessed in-app before granting this permission, and you can revoke it anytime in Android Settings → Accessibility.
