In Switzerland, 0.4 to 1% of the population suffers from cardiovascular arrest each year; up to 8000 people a year.

In addition to chest compressions and artificial respiration, early defibrillation is one of the cornerstones of successful resuscitation. DAEs are publicly available defibrillators and can be operated by professionals. Up to 80% of those affected by measures would be resuscitated. But in fact only 5% of patients in all of Switzerland who had cardiac arrest survived in 2005.

The geographical distribution of the population and also the bases of the emergency services are very different.

For people with a crush - to reach them as quickly as possible - volunteer groups have been recruited and trained by the regional emergency services. These groups are alerted of the events by the emergency medical center 144 Friborg.

With this app, lay volunteer workers will be alerted in the emergency area in seconds, which can shorten the untreated interval until the emergency service arrives. With this application, many First Responders can be alerted more quickly. In Ticino, the probability of survival has risen to more than 50%.
