Precise Media Volume

Android limits media volume to a small, fixed number of steps - often just 15. Jumping straight from one step to the next can feel jarring, especially with headphones or external speakers, where a single step can mean a very noticeable jump in loudness.

Precise Media Volume replaces this coarse scale with as many steps as you want. The system volume stays at a maximum level you choose, and each press of the physical volume button moves you by one small step below it. All steps are equal in decibels, so the sound gets gradually louder or quieter instead of jumping.

KEY FEATURES

- Choose any number of volume steps and the volume range (in dB) to fit your headphones or speakers

- Separate settings for every audio device: the phone speaker, wired headphones, each pair of Bluetooth headphones and each USB DAC

- Set the maximum system volume for each device: even if the app stops, the sound will never get louder than this level, which protects your hearing

- A custom on-screen volume slider shows your current step whenever you press a volume button; you can also drag it with your finger. Choose its side, height and position separately for portrait and landscape

- Works in all apps or only in the apps you choose, including the home screen and the lock screen; newly installed apps can be added automatically

- Taking a screenshot with Power + Volume Down does not change the volume (the detection delay is adjustable)

- Volume buttons work normally during phone calls and voice calls in messaging apps (Viber, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.) - the app only adjusts media playback volume

- Runs quietly in the background with a low-priority notification, so it keeps working even when you are not looking at the app

- Fully offline: everything happens on your device

HOW IT WORKS

The app uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect presses of the volume-up and volume-down buttons, to detect which app is currently open (only its package name, so it can work only in the apps you choose), and to show its volume slider. It never reads your screen, never sees what you type, and never sends anything anywhere - your settings and app list stay on your device.
