Cakebyte: No-Root Firewall

Cakebyte is a firewall for Android that doesn't need root. It shows you what every app on your phone is talking to, including the trackers running in the background, and lets you cut any app off from WiFi or mobile data with one tap.

IS THIS A VPN?

No. Android won't let an app filter traffic without root unless it takes the VPN slot, so that's what Cakebyte does, and that's the only reason you'll see the VPN icon in your status bar. Nothing gets tunneled anywhere. There are no servers on the other end, and your traffic never leaves the device. Cakebyte filters, it doesn't relay, and it won't hide your IP from anyone.
