DVS-M17 connects you directly to the M17 digital voice reflector network — no servers, no accounts, no gateways in between.
M17 is the open-source digital voice protocol built by hams, for hams, using the open Codec 2 vocoder (3200 bps). DVS-M17 speaks the reflector protocol natively over UDP, so your Android phone or tablet becomes a full M17 client.
LISTEN ANYWHERE
* Browse 100+ reflectors from the built-in host list, refreshed from the DVRef directory
* Listen-only mode needs no callsign — just pick a reflector and hear the network
* Live Last Heard dashboard shows who is talking across the reflector network right now, powered by DVSRef
* Scan several reflectors at once through a single decoder, and jump in when something catches your ear
TALK WITH PTT
* Link to any reflector module (A–Z) with your callsign
* Press-and-hold push-to-talk with a live audio level meter
* Half-duplex mode mutes receive while you transmit, just like a radio
* Pair a Bluetooth PTT microphone (Inrico-style speaker mics like PTT-Z01/B01) — the mic button keys the radio while linked, even with the screen off
KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO
* Live caller screen shows the transmitting station's callsign, name and location (via the RadioID database), and QRZ.com photo
* Call log records every received and transmitted contact
* Link quality indicator tracks packet loss in real time
BUILT FOR ANDROID
* Native Jetpack Compose interface with a dark theme, on Android 8.0 and later
* Works over Wi-Fi and mobile data
* Keeps receiving in the background while you use other apps
* Open a reflector straight from a link with the im17:// deep link
ABOUT TRANSMITTING
A valid amateur radio licence is required to transmit on a reflector, because that audio reaches the airwaves. Listening, and direct peer-to-peer calls over Wi-Fi, never require one. DVS-M17 can verify your licence against QRZ.com, RadioID.net or AllStarLink, and never stores your password.
OPEN SOURCE
M17 is an open protocol: https://m17project.org
Codec 2 is bundled under the LGPL-2.1 licence. DVS-M17 collects no data and contains no advertising or tracking.
Whether you run an M17 hotspot, a handheld, or you are just curious about open-source digital voice, DVS-M17 is the easiest way to get on the M17 network.

A dead socket, an unresolvable host, or a reflector that goes quiet mid-session no longer leaves the link stuck CONNECTED, and the scan drops a channel whose feed has died. The VU meter has real ballistics, and duckable focus loss ducks instead of going silent. Incoming and outgoing LAN calls replace the existing link cleanly, Log rows show their times, and the Reflectors tab can finally be refreshed.
