About the Werbegemeinschaft Danube Upper Austrian Danube Upper Austria & WGD Tourismus GmbH

The Danube Tourist Commission Upper Austria comprises 42 municipalities, including 4 Bavarian towns of Passau via Linz to St. Nikola, with around 355,000 inhabitants and more than 1.8 million overnight stays. The association was established in 1991 to carry out the offer development, advertising and marketing for the Danube Region and to accelerate regional development.

The main areas of tourism marketing are: Austria route No. 1, the Danube Cycle Path, walking on the Danube - the Donausteig was opened on 3 July 2010 Danube and Culture on the Danube.. The day trip and tourism plays a very significant role on the Danube.

In September 1997, the WGD was founded Donau Upper Austria Tourism GmbH to commercialize the province of Upper Austria belonging 15 boat docks on the Danube. Around 800,000 passengers traveling annually with excursion and cabin vessels the Danube Region.
