Dante's is located at Southwest Third and Burnside in the Entertainment District of downtown Portland, Oregon. The club was opened in February 2000 in a turn-of-the-century building that has formerly housed a brothel, a flop-house, an early 1980s punk rock club, a mongolian restaurant, a speak-easy and a gambling den.

Over the last decade, Dante's has grown into much more than just a live-music venue, largely due to the support of loyal patrons, staff and talented artists. The space has evolved from 3000 square feet to over 7500 square feet, and is in a constant state of upgrade and remodeling. The club is described as organic, in that it is able to accomodate just about any type of act from rock to DJs to cabaret and circus to fire dancing.

Dante's offers a classic, dark, lush atmosphere with award-winning pizza, and one of "the best damned bars on earth."

Thousands of regional, national and internationally-known artists and performers have graced the stage at Dante's, dropped by to wind down in the Limbo Lounge, or warmed themselves in front of the open fire-pit.
