Days Until: Countdown & Widget

Count the days until a birthday or payday and keep the nearest date on your home screen. The countdown widget shows how many days are left and changes the number at midnight.

Type a name, pick the day, and the event joins the list. Dates still ahead come first, with the nearest at the top. The number changes colour when a date is a week away, and again the day before.

Good to know

Whole calendar days are counted, not hours. An event today shows ‘today’, and an event tomorrow shows one day. The number changes at midnight in your time zone, not 24 hours after you added the event. It is also recounted when the clock or the time zone changes.

The widget shows the nearest date still ahead, and you cannot choose a different event for it. A monthly event on the 31st falls on the last day of shorter months, and a birthday on 29 February is counted on the 28th in other years.

There are no reminders or notifications. The countdown lives in the list and on the home screen.

Working days are Monday to Friday, counting the first day and not the last. Public holidays are left out, because every country has its own.

Your dates are kept on the phone and the app does not send them anywhere. Android's own backup, if you have it turned on, includes them. No account is needed. The app has no adverts and nothing to buy, so the widget is free too. Anonymous usage statistics can be turned off in settings.
