Character Recognition

This app utilizes the Tesseract OCR library to perform character recognition on images selected from the gallery or captured from the camera. Recognition results can be edited or copied to the clipboard for export.

The app ships with the English training data; recognition with other languages is possible but requires an one-time download of the training data for each additional language; the required data for languages other than English are not shipped with the app due to data size. As the user selects a different language the training data will be downloaded at that time. The download may take some minutes depending on the bandwidth. Once the dafa for a language are installed, OCR in that language can be performed directly in future runs of the app on your device.
