ATC Simulator 3D Voice Control is an air traffic control simulator where you work the radio with your own voice. You key the microphone and issue clearances in standard FAA phraseology, and pilots answer over a radio-filtered channel with full readbacks before they fly your instructions. You sit in the 3D tower cab looking out at the runways, or in the radar room working approach, or in the cockpit flying an aircraft yourself.
VOICE ON THE FREQUENCY
Press push-to-talk and speak: "Seacliff four zero one, descend and maintain five thousand, cleared ILS runway two five right." Pilots read back in distinct voices and fly it. Airline crews are brisk, student pilots hesitate and make readback errors to catch, and MAYDAY crews sound frightened until you calm them. They query instructions that make no sense or ask you to say again. When you cannot talk, tap any aircraft for touch commands.
THREE SEATS TO WORK
- Approach radar: vector arrivals from the terminal boundary onto the ILS with headings, altitudes and speeds. Hold traffic when the final fills up, clear aircraft for visual approaches, and hand each arrival off to the tower.
- 3D tower cab: watch the airport through the cab windows. Drag flight strips to set your departure sequence, taxi aircraft along named taxiways, issue hold short and runway crossing clearances, clear departures for takeoff and arrivals to land, and send a flight around when separation breaks down.
- Pilot in command: fly by hand from gate to stand in airliner decks with working autopilots, a turboprop, a light single, or a fighter while the tower is worked for you. Taxi with one stick as the tower watches your route, set flaps and rotate, take over at 1,500 feet on final with copilot callouts, and park on the stop line. You make every radio call and readback yourself.
THE AIRPORTS AND THE FLEET
Work three fields:
- San Francisco International (KSFO), with two pairs of crossing parallel runways.
- Palo Alto Airport (KPAO), a general aviation field where you work tower and ground together and fit VFR callers into a busy pattern of flight school trainers.
- Bayview International, a training airport built for learning radar, tower and winter operations.
Over 25 aircraft types share the ramps and approaches, from the Cessna 172 and Dash 8 to the 737, A320, 777, A380, C-17 and F-16.
WEATHER, WINTER AND EMERGENCIES
Shifts open with a weather and runway briefing. Rain streaks the cab glass and lengthens landing rolls; fog causes go-arounds and diversions. In Bayview winter, pilots report braking action, departures de-ice, and ploughs clear closed runways. With emergencies on, departures may hit birds and return under MAYDAY or PAN-PAN, and arrivals may declare smoke, engine or hydraulic failure as you roll the rescue equipment.
LEARN THE PHRASEOLOGY AND RULES
Phraseology follows FAA Order JO 7110.65. In first tower shifts, a card by the talk button names the caller and shows what to say back. Your score sheet shows the rule behind each point, and the handbook opens the FAA paragraph behind an instruction.
- Ground school: 18 chapters with voiced radio examples and a glossary.
- Guided lessons: 23 instructor-voiced lessons on the approach radar scope and in the tower cab.
- Radio School: 42 radio drills across 7 packs.
OFFLINE AND ONLINE PLAY
The simulation, weather, emergencies, scoring, lessons, handbook and pilot voices all work offline. Without a connection, voice control uses your phone's own speech recognizer if an offline English speech pack is installed, and touch commands always work. An internet connection adds the live world: cloud speech recognition for your clearances, and live, directed events in your shift.
