About Andronix

Linux on Android, fully automated: Ubuntu, Debian, Kali and desktops, no root.

Andronix runs a full Linux system right inside the app, on your Android phone or tablet. Pick a distro and a desktop, and Andronix does the rest. No root needed ⚡️

LINUX IN THE APP

• One tap installs Linux: ready-made images make it fast.

• Real desktops with sound and optional GPU acceleration (experimental).

• Keyboard and mouse support, and layouts for tablets and foldables.

• Pin Linux apps to your home screen, and share files through Download/Andronix.

• A notification shows what's running and how much memory it uses, with Open and Stop.

• If something fails, Andronix can send a problem report for you (it asks first), and shows the fix right away when it's a known problem.

• In 8 languages, including Russian.

HOW IT WORKS

Andronix runs Linux with PRoot, so nothing on your phone is changed and no root is needed.

LINUX DISTROS, NO ADS

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Debian 13, Kali, Fedora, Arch, Manjaro, Alpine and Void, with your choice of desktop: XFCE, LXQt, MATE or KDE Plasma (KDE on Ubuntu, Debian and Kali). Or the command line only. All free, no ads.

MODDED OS 2.0

Ready-made desktops, styled and tuned by Andronix: Ubuntu XFCE, Ubuntu KDE, Debian XFCE, Manjaro XFCE and Kali XFCE. Buy one edition, or get the Modded Pass for all five, with updates included. If you bought a Classic Modded OS before, it stays yours to install.

ANDRONIX PREMIUM

Early access to new editions and beta installers, higher download limits, a spot on the supporter wall, and a lower price on the Modded Pass. It's also the best way to support Andronix.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Browse, code, learn Linux, run servers and tools: anything that doesn't need the full Linux kernel. Some things are limited by Android itself (for example, most pen-testing tools that need raw network access).

REQUIREMENTS

• Android 8.0 or newer on a 64-bit ARM (arm64) phone or tablet.

• On phones with a Linux kernel older than 4.8, the app offers LXQt and the command line.

• Older or non-arm64 phones (Android 7.0+), or prefer a command-line installer? Andronix also works through Termux; the app links you to it.

OPEN SOURCE

The Andronix installer and all the free distros are open source on GitHub. The app and Modded OS are how we keep the project going.

Last updated on Nov 7, 2026
- Forgot your Linux password? Reset it from the distro's menu on Home.
- The on-screen keyboard now covers the bottom of the desktop instead of shrinking it.
- Fixed a crash at launch on some Chromebooks, and crashes when Linux was starting or the phone was low on resources.
- Less work at launch, so fewer freezes on low-end phones.
