WiFi Monitor is a fast, clean, and privacy-first WiFi scanner and signal analyzer for Android. Instantly see every network around you, check signal quality, pick the best channel, and understand your connection — all without creating an account and without sending your data anywhere.
Whether you are troubleshooting a weak WiFi spot at home, picking the least crowded channel on your router, or just curious which networks your phone can see, WiFi Monitor gives you the information you need in a clean Material You interface.
KEY FEATURES
• Live WiFi Scanner
See all nearby WiFi networks in real time. For each network you get SSID, BSSID (MAC), signal strength in dBm, frequency, channel, channel width, and security type (WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 / Open).
• Connected Network Overview
Tap the Home tab to see the network you are currently connected to: SSID, link speed, IP configuration, and a live signal gauge. Perfect for quickly checking your own WiFi quality.
• Channel Analysis
Visualize how 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz channels are used around you. Spot crowded channels and switch your router to a cleaner one for a faster, more stable connection.
• Signal Monitor
Track how your signal strength changes over time. Great for walking around your home or office to find dead zones and the best router placement.
• Distance Estimation
The app estimates the approximate distance to each access point from its signal strength using the Free-Space Path Loss formula — 100% on-device, no GPS, no tracking.
• Vendor Lookup (Offline OUI Database)
WiFi Monitor identifies the manufacturer of each access point from its BSSID prefix using a bundled OUI database. No network requests, works fully offline.
• Powerful Sorting & Filtering
Sort by signal strength, name, or channel. Filter results by band (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz / 6 GHz) to focus on what matters.
• Light & Dark Themes
Beautiful Material 3 design with light, dark, and system-follow themes.
• Modern, Smooth UI
Built entirely with Jetpack Compose for fluid animations and a native Android feel on Android 9 and later.
BUILT WITH PRIVACY IN MIND
• No login, no account, no personal information collected.
• All WiFi scan data stays on your device — it is never transmitted to our servers because we do not run any.
• Location permission is requested only because Android requires it to perform WiFi scans. Your GPS coordinates are never read, stored, or transmitted by this app.
• Clear, transparent privacy policy inside the app.
(The app shows banner, interstitial, and app-open ads via Google AdMob and uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics in release builds for anonymous stability and usage insights. EEA / UK / Switzerland users are presented with a Google UMP consent dialog on first launch and can revisit their choice at any time from the in-app Settings screen. See the in-app privacy policy for full details.)
WHO IS THIS FOR?
• Anyone who wants to fix WiFi dead zones at home.
• Network enthusiasts who want to know which channels are crowded.
• Users who want a fast, minimal, ad-supported WiFi scanner without bloat.
• People who care about privacy and want their data to stay on their own device.
PERMISSIONS (AND WHY)
• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE — required to scan and list WiFi networks.
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION — required by Android to return WiFi scan results. The app does not read your GPS location.
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / INTERNET — required to load banner/interstitial ads and Firebase services.
