Silk is a fine, thin fabric that is woven with silk. The best silk is made from silk. People are raising silkworms (Bombyx mori), take silk carp silk into silk. This is a long-standing profession and originated in China. Silk was expensive just for the upper classes in society. The silk was shipped from China and sold to Western countries via the Silk Road.
